But can we believe them???  We sure want to!

Here's where we are to date:

Deck is 'mostly' laid...ran out of Trex...more coming...railing in next Wednesday!  Boy we had no idea it would be THIS BIG!  

 Yikes...how do we fill this space??

Permanent stairs from garage to house...Trex...see how hard it is to keep dust and dirt from tracking into the house right now??  And that little towel I placed there does NOT seem to be helping.

Beams - we ended up having to have the beams re-wrapped and re-stained.  The original ones turned out really bad so our builder copped to the mistake and has had them redone (and they are looking beautiful!)

  Ring, Ring...'Hello?', "Hi, it's Mike, guess what we have?', 'what?'  'A Shower door!!', 'What? Really?  Wow...send me pictures!'   

It's the simple things...

Choosing backsplash for kitchen - And I thought I was done roaming the aisles of the tile stores! Would one of these work?  And one is on sale!  Or do I need more color? 

Not pictured -- canned LED lights had to be found, purchased, taped for painting, painted and ready to hang next week.  We did everything but the painting and that was a lot of hours! (but saved us a bit of $$...which you know pleased me!)

Next week the plan is for lighting (yay! we can finally see the guest bathroom without using a flashlight!), plumbing (which means adding two of these sinks to this vanity somehow), concrete, appliances (can't even remember what we picked!), doors, railing and carpet. 

Nothing like leaving everything to the last minute!

Oh Monday, Monday!

Wow...we had a good day today!  The granite arrived and was installed.  It is so pretty...we love it!   We were able to get most of what we needed out of the slabs we bought for the kitchen.  Everything except the master bathroom.  We purchased a remnant for that room.

Mud room ...the bench was a 'freebie' we weren't expecting!

Fireplace done and a garage door!

A little more progress...the fireplace was finished...we love it, and we have a garage door!  Both are exciting but the garage is doubly so because it allows us to close up the house.  One more step in making it ours!

Starting the final push!!

The hope is that before the month of July is over we will be close...so close...packed up and ready close...to moving!

We are getting things done and although it seems to me like a whole lot still to do, we are told it won't be long.  That is so exciting and so scary!!

Here is what we have been working on...

DIRT!  lots and lots of dirt...to move.  All the dirt around the house has been hauled away and it is looking a lot less like a construction site and more like a home!

Putting in drain  in the backyard to keep water out of the basement.  You can see behind the drain the dirt is terraced a bit....we will have a rock retaining wall here soon!

And the fireplace is finally getting done...after all of the options and the struggle and the carting tile and rock back and forth from store to house to store to house to....we finally made a decision, travertine stone...we think it will look great!

For 'Fun' we got to try to pick out carpet....and then carpet color!  Here is what we ended up with...the color will be a surprise!

We are nearing the end of the decision making process...and we couldn't be happier!

 and finally...I stopped by the house today on my way home and this is what I found!  Boulders of all sizes ...our retaining wall rock.  There was one guy moving this rock around like it was nothing...can't wait to see what it looks like tomorrow!  (stay tuned!)
