Taping and Muding begin

The drywall has been installed.  The taping and muding has begun.  This is a messy and long process and with our house and walls we are expecting it to take 2 weeks.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing because we still need to finalize the cabinets, cabinet colors, fireplace design, flooring, bathroom tiles and paint colors...aggggh!  As much as I'd liked to have been ahead of the game on a lot of the decision making I'm not there yet and it's driving me crazy!!

But in the meantime...we tape....and mud.....

The drywall is in!  It's starting to look like a house, don't you think?

And just like that...drywall!

The frame we call our 'house' is quickly turning into a true house!  The drywall is changing the landscape for sure and it's daunting and exciting at the same time.

They have been going fast and furious and should be done today...with the mud and tape coming tomorrow.

We are 'enclosed' and what that means is that moisture cannot get into the house.  And what that means is that we are able to start working on the inside of the house...and...

first up...

Now we are just waiting for the roof to dry so we can get the house closed in.  Once that happens the insullation will go in and then drywall!

While we were gone....

we were off on a little vacation last week, skiing a little and visiting friends.  We were lucky enough to have our neighbor (who went through this whole 'home building' thing last year) keep us up on what was happening at our house.

And what...I hear you ask....was happening?

Well...the Beams!  THE BIG BEAMS were placed!  The roof line was finished and we went from alien house to pretty cool framed house!
