CLOSING IN ON THE PAINT JOB!

What a difference a couple of days and more than a couple of gallons of paint makes!

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!

Picking paint was easy compared to door knobs, handles, lighting and plumbing...all of which need to be finalized this week...oh and did I say carpet???

Also, cabinets are 'getting there'!  Lots of darkness...we are hoping it's not too dark!

And the house changes color!

We are so excited that the outside of the house is finally getting some attention.  The soffit just under the roof is being done, and last night the painters stopped by to give us a sample of the paint color we picked.  We wanted it to be dark but once they put it up we realized that it was much darker than what we thought...so at the last minute, last night we were looking at the swatch again and chose a new color, ordered it and ...big gulp... will have to live with it

'Griffin' the color we had chosen looks as dark as the underside of the roof...

so we had to go to Plan B!

'Griffin...too dark!   We ended up choosing the next color up on the swatch, 'Backdrop'

AND......

Not too Bad...

a little brownish & grayish

working on the 2nd coat on the garage...will have more pics as they get more done.

Happy Monday...cabinets arrived!

Blustery Monday but Happy Monday...
                                ...rain so no work on the outside of the house...BUT...finally...good news!

The cabinet boxes have arrived and although I can't really decipher them, there are a lot and the big empty house isn't so empty!

And lookie here...what could this be????

Lots happening but oh so slowly!

Our doors were stained finally...they look great!  The beams and stairs are not in as good of shape but the builder says they will 'fix it'.

DON'T WORRY, THESE PICTURES AREN'T VERY GOOD, THE DOORS ARE BEAUTIFUL!

The Beams on the other hand, need to be fixed.,..

And on the other side of town...Mike and I are trying to pick granite...our samples are as small as a paint chip compared to what we are looking at...makes it almost a guessing game!

and the WINNER...

The shop where the granite will be fabricated...they said it would be okay if I came down to watch them...you know how excited they are about that!!

We also picked paint for the outside of the house this week...again no easy feat.  

It will be a miracle if this all comes together!!

of searching online and books....lights...(& fans)
